Le Mans

Today is an important day in motor sports - 90th anniversary of Le Mans 24 hours. Coincidentally, it's also Marty's shop's 20th anniversary. I went down to his store, the usual gang of military modelers were there, and Mary prepared snacks for everyone.

Lot's of stuff are on sale, but I wasn't planning to buy anything. Unfortunately, Marty all of a sudden took out a bottle of champagne. After a glass of bubbly, I felt obligated to buy something. I went up to the 1/43 selves and saw this Renaissance kit of 1997 Gulf Racing McLaren GTR-LM. The number 41 car took 2nd overall and 1st in GT1 class. A perfect kit for the day.

Relocation's effect on purchasing decision

Part of the reason why I have not been posting was that I had been busy finding a new place to move to after the second time my current place got flooded. The deal was finally done and my workshop will be moving to a new home in the coming weeks.

I will leave the furnitures to the mover, but for the important stuff, I have to handle them myself. In the past 2 days I moved all my kits over to the new place. If I had not done that, I wouldn't have realized the number of kits that I have. Over 80!

Good enough reason to stop buying kits. Now I don't need any quota.
